Fountain Hills Arizona is a unique community within the state of Arizona. If you enjoy beautiful skies, outdoor activities, hiking, riding through some amazing biking trails, gorgeous communities, spas, great food or taking in some art and theater, this town is for you.
Located within Maricopa County, this unique community neighbors the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and Scottsdale. Fountain Hills was developed by a man named C.V. Wood, who at the time was President of McCulloch Oil, and the city was named after the huge towering fountain located right in the middle of town. At its full height of 560 feet, the fountain in the center of Fountain Hills is higher than the Washington Monument. It is 10 feet taller than Notre Dame Cathedral, 110 feet higher than the Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt and three times as high as Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park.
